Day trip · Entebbe & Lake Victoria
Ngamba Island Chimpanzees
Boat across Lake Victoria to the Ngamba Island sanctuary — home to rescued chimpanzees you meet at feeding time.
And if nobody else books your slot, it runs as a private tour — same price.
Hosted by OliviaKnows every bird on Mabamba swamp
Ngamba Island is home to 49 chimpanzees — 46 rescued orphans and three born at the sanctuary — on a forested island in Lake Victoria.
Pickup at 7:30, then about two hours by boat from Ggaba landing site. You watch the feeding demonstrations, walk the island, and hear the keepers' stories before the boat back and lunch.
Bring a camera, sunscreen, long trousers and a rain jacket. Boat, entrance, lunch and transport included.
