The line every visitor wants a photo with — plus the parts most tours skip. Two hours southwest of Kampala, you stand in both hemispheres at once and watch the water-spin demonstration at the Kayabwe monument.

Then a 45-minute nature walk through the surrounding farmland — coffee, matooke, grazing cattle — and the roadside craft markets before lunch and the drive back.

Bring a camera and sunscreen. Lunch, entrance fees and transport are all in the price.

The route

  1. Hotel pickup

We collect you in Kampala and head southwest — about two hours.

  2. The Equator at Kayabwe

Hemisphere experiments, the water demonstration, and the photo.

  3. Farmland walk

45 minutes among crops and grazing animals — rural Uganda at walking pace.

  4. Craft markets & lunch

Roadside stalls, then lunch before the drive home.

  5. Back to Kampala

    Hotel drop-off in the afternoon.

What guests say

Visited many interesting parts of Kampala (3.5h slow walk, lots of shade/roofed areas). Steve is very nice and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend!

Steve was a great guide, very friendly and knowledgable. I learned a lot not only about the sites we visited but also about the Ugandan society.

Great tour. Steve knew a lot about history and was able to navigate the city well. He was also able to answer all of my questions.

Attended a trip with Steve to the Equator. Had such a lovely day and Steve was very informative. An experiment was shown how water goes down plug holes different ways depending which side of the equator you are stood on. Would highly recommended.
