Walking Kampala since 2018
I was born and raised here, and I've been walking Kampala my whole life. In 2018 I turned that into Airpals — one guide, one city, and a simple idea: you should meet Uganda through a Ugandan, not through a package.
I'm a licensed tour guide — Uganda Tourism Board license UTB/TG/2023/10693 — and TripAdvisor has given our tours its award every year since 2019. I'm proud of that. But what I actually care about is the walk being the thing you're still talking about years later.
Today Airpals is me, Gertrude and Olivia, plus ten local partners — drivers, guides, cooks, boat captains — who make the bigger trips run. Everyone is paid properly. You can see where your money goes on every trip page; I insisted on that.
Ask me about the matatu conductors' hand signals. Or just come walk.

“I went for a city tour in Kampala with Steve and had a great time. Steve knows the city very well and gives you a look on the different faces that the city has to offer. He also has a chill vibe and he's a pleasant person to talk to.”
“I went on a walking tour with Steve and he was a wonderful guide who could tell me a lot of interesting things about Kampala. Besides the topics of the tour we had many other good conversations and it was all in all an afternoon spend in good company. The tour also left you with the feeling that you knew Kampala better.”
