Multi-day safari · Kidepo Valley
Kidepo Valley, Three Days
Uganda's remotest park, up by the South Sudan border: cheetahs, ostriches, huge horizons, and a day with the Karamojong.
And if nobody else books your slot, it runs as a private tour — same price.
Hosted by SteveWalking Kampala since 2018
Kidepo is the park Ugandans tell you about in a lower voice — far enough north that almost nobody makes it, which is exactly why you should. It is the only Ugandan park with cheetahs and ostriches.
The drive up is long and honest: through Gulu and Kitgum with a stop at Karuma Falls. What waits is savannah on a scale the southern parks cannot offer, and an afternoon with the Karamojong, whose cattle culture has outlasted everything.
Lodging at Apoka. Long days in the vehicle — the three-star effort rating is for sitting, not walking.
